We fight to reform the global coffee industry.
Our resolve is unyielding. The coffee industry must change. The dark and bitter days of slavery, child labor, deforestation, and pesticide-soaked monoculture must end. It is not acceptable for millions of coffee farmers to be earning under one dollar a day. We stand firm against the shadows of injustice and champion a new dawn of sustainability and equity.
When it comes to people: We believe that production and consumption of coffee can shift from destructive exploitation to positive resilience. Coffee must bring dignity to the people who work in it. We fight for coffee that uplifts rather than degrades its workers; and demand a living income price for coffee farmers. We passionately believe that the journey of coffee, from bean to cup, should be a beacon of positivity, enriching the lives of all involved.
When it comes to the earth: With unwavering dedication, we advocate for coffee that is regenerative for the earth, protecting biodiversity and sequestering carbon with every farm. Coffee can lead the way on transforming global agriculture, and must turn the page on being the sixth biggest driver of deforestation in the world. Our ideal is about aligning this commodity economy with planetary boundaries. Humanity is in the most desperate race in history—a race between climate chaos on one hand, and on the other a boom in renewable energy and a shift towards regenerative agriculture. The outcome of this race will determine just how many ecosystems collapse, how many cities drown, how many species survive. Scientists tell us humanity has less than a decade to act, to transform agriculture. We at Coffee Watch envision a future where every sip of coffee not only delights the senses but also protects our precious planet – without a drop of deforestation in it, and full to the brim with regenerative agroforestry practices.
We push companies and governments in coffee-producing and coffee-consuming countries to take action and curb coffee industry abuses, to ensure that much-needed reform unfurls across global industry.

With every investigation conducted, every report published, every petition signed, and every protest peacefully waged, we inch closer to our vision of a coffee industry that thrives on integrity and compassion.

We show consumers how they can be a force for good – in a different economic model with more direct relations to strong producer communities, healing the earth instead of trashing it.
